Golden Altos featured in Milpitas Beat for COVID-19 RELIEF

Local Milpitas company donates 2,000 surgical masks in COVID-19 pandemic relief effort

Golden Altos Corp. has donated 2,000 surgical and N95 masks to healthcare workers at El Camino Hospital in Mountain View, who need them to continue fighting the novel coronavirus. The donation will be the first of many. Golden Altos pledges to donate all of their incoming masks until the Shelter in Place order is lifted.

In order to make this and future donations possible, Golden Altos had to switch to cotton masks. This switch requires extra care to ensure nothing contaminants customers’ products, but the extra work is worth the effort to provide medical professionals with the basic necessities they deserve when battling on the frontlines for our health and safety.

In addition to the community, Golden Altos is committed to employee safety and has taken extra precaution to limit potential exposure. For example, all interior doors are opened to lessen the number of potential surface contact points. The company is following strict social distancing protocols, frequently disinfecting, and making remote work accessible for most employees. At the company’s headquarters, personal protective equipment and hand sanitizers were distributed to employees.

“Without a doubt these practices have impacted our overall production efficiencies but it’s our belief that by doing so we can further limit the potential of virus transmission within our factory,” said Arlen Chou, President, Golden Altos. “By no means do we take the call for social distancing lightly, neither do we take lightly our responsibility to the safety of our country’s military personnel.”

The company’s semiconductor devices are used by the military for critical defense
operations. Golden Altos is proud to uphold our duty as an essential business and remain open through shelter in place.
